Kids love art and craft activities which help to channelize their creativity while creating beautiful things, other than reliving them from the screen. These activities are perfect for kids and even parents who wish to mingle with their children, push them or support the development of their minds. A Few Essential Stuff for Crafting

Paper: printer paper, construction/ cardstock scrap pages.
Adhesives:White glue,glue sticks and hot glue (with adult supervision)
Scissors: Safety scissors for the little ones.
Markers & Crayons: To color and decorate.
PAINT AND BRUSHES: Watercolor, acrylic and tempera paint – my favorites are watercolors.
Materials: Cardboard boxes, paper rolls, egg cartons and bottle caps.
Natural materialsExamples: Leaves, branches sticks, cuts of wood, rocks and pinecones.
Materials: Any yarn, beads and buttons for the eyes
Simple Crafts for Youngsters
Animal Masks
Supplies: – Paper plates- Paint-Markers- String or craft sticks.
Activity: Have your child choose their favorite animal and create a mask out of asturdy paper plate as the base. They can paint the plate, use markers to give it more personality/ or not and then add ears, by gluing pieces of construction paper on to paper plates. String or a craft stick should hold your mask in place. It also encourages creativity and imaginative play.
DIY Kaleidoscope
Materials: Paper towel roll, aluminum foil paper, beads/sequins to fill it(seed-like items), cling film & tape.
Activity: Decorate the cover of your paper towel roll. Cut the reflective paper in a triangle form of prism that fit inside the roll Secure it with tape. Place a plastic wrap across this, and have it held in the place by an elastic band to fill with beads or sequins. Wrap the second end in clingwrap & close up. Now, look through the kaleidoscope and view all those colorful patterns.
Homemade Playdough
Ingredients: Flour, salt water coloring oil.
Activity: 2 cups flour, 1 cup salt or more as desired, 1 cup water and food coloring (children can decide how many drops), vegetable oil to add for better consistency Fold in and knead mixture until it reaches dough fashion. Kids may use cookie cutters or shape the dough with their hands. Great for sensory play and fine motor development.
Rainbow Sun catchers
Supplies: Clear contact paper Tissue Paper Scissors
Create: Cut contact paper and tissue paper into shapes. On one side peel the back of the contact paper and have your child arrange out an colorful design with pieces of tissue paper. Paper Bag Puppets
Supplies: paper bags, markers, glue and different craft items (googly eyes/ yarn).

Nature Collage
You will need: Flower, leaf or twig Glue Paper
Activity: Nature Walk to Collect Different Types of Natural Items. When you get home, put them on a piece of paper and stick with glue to create nature collage. This mobile helps children to have felt and appreciate the beauty of nature as well as develop observation skills.
DIY Bird Feeder
Supplies: Pine cones, peanut butter, bird seed and twine
Activity: Spread peanut butter over the pine cone and dunk it into bird seed Use the string to tie it around the top, and hang it outside. This also helps children learn about the animals and how wildlife can be taken care of.
String Art
Materials: Cardboard, Yarn or String, pins.
